Our September semester of pottery classes is just around the corner, making this the perfect time to jump in if you’ve been thinking about learning pottery, meeting new people, or picking up a creative hobby. Whether you’re completely new to clay or returning to build your skills, our fall session has something for everyone.

At Wheel & Slab, many of our students are new to Rochester, grad students, medical residents, or professionals who want a place to relax and make friends outside of work. Pottery classes naturally bring people together, whether you’re sharing tools, laughing about a wobbly bowl, or celebrating your first finished piece.

Our studio is centrally located, just off the 390 expressway and minutes from neighborhoods like the South Wedge, 19th Ward, and Swillburg. We’re also easily accessible from Brighton, Henrietta, Gates, Greece, and Chili.

Students often come from nearby colleges and institutions, including RIT, MCC, the University of Rochester, and Strong Memorial Hospital. Whether you’re driving or biking, our studio is just a short trip away.

  • Supportive instructors & community that make pottery approachable and fun
